Strasbourg
The second largest train station is in Strasbourg at 20 place de la Gare, in the city centre. Trains run around 20 times a days, and the 16:48 from 5 January to 4 February 2010 does not run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Eurostar trains between St Pancras International and Strasbourg have average journey times of 6 hours, 26 minutes, making travel by highspeed rail very popular and convenient. Strasbourg is popular with tourists in spring, as visitors who book tickets for this time will be able to enjoy the thousands of flowers that cover the area.
Strasbourg combines the best of German and French cultures, making it full of monuments, historic buildings and museums. The centre is the home of the gothic ‘Cathedrale de Notre Dame’, which was originally built on the site of a Roman temple. It took 300 years to construct. A museum dedicated to the cathedral and the arts from the 11th-12th centuries stands nearby. The city’s well-preserved centre makes it ideal for pedestrians and cyclists.
