Aime La Plagne
The station Gare d’Aime-la-Plagne serves both Aime and the nearby ski resort, La Plagne with high speed TGV and Eurostar services. There is free public transport between 8am and 12 midnight connecting Aime La Plagne to the other high altitude resorts. The La Plagne area is also connected to Bourg-Saint-Maurice by the Vanoise Express. Skitrains are available on Fridays and Saturdays only.
Eurostar trains between St Pancras International, Ashford International and Aime-La-Plagne have average journey times of 7 hours 31 minutes, but the direct route during ski season is only available between Decmember and April. Aime-La-Plagne is popular for tourists at Chrimstmas time, but tickets outside the ski period are for indirect travel through Paris only.
The village of Aime in in the Rhône-Alpes region and in the Savoie area is one of the eleven La Plagne ski resorts. It faces Mont Blanc and sits at an altitude of 2100m at the bottom of the pistes. It was built in 1968, but opened in 1969, and this season is open from 12th December 2009 to 24th April 2010.
